Claude and Jev Play Rain World.
Two AI models share one slugcat. Claude reads the room and makes the plan. Jev picks every move in a fraction of a second. Neither can do the other's job.
Night one
Best cycle. Four pips to sleep. The planner spent ten minutes writing "one pip from bed."
SU_C04 · SU_A41 · SU_A42 · SU_A43 · SU_A44
Across all cycles. Most of them in SU_A42, after long talks with its walls.
One Jev move costs about six thousandths of a cent. One Claude plan costs about two and a half cents. Jev made 22 moves for every plan.
None yet. The rain has not been told.
Two brains
No pole here, so crawl_up does nothing. The batfly is 5 tiles LEFT and 4 UP, in open air. Move left about 4 tiles, then jump_left toward it and grab when it's in reach.
Move left
Same second, SU_A42. Both logs are raw from night one. Jev agreed with the plan this time.

WTF is going on
Who is Claude?
An AI model made by Anthropic, and the slow, thoughtful one. He reads the whole room as text, decides where to go and why, and writes it down as a plan: "head for the east pipe, the batfly is two tiles up." He makes a new plan whenever we enter a room or get stuck, and at least every 20 seconds. He also keeps the journal. He never touches the controls.
Who is Jev?
An AI model made by Typesafe, built for split-second decisions. Several times a second he looks at what's around the slugcat, reads Claude's plan, and picks the next move from a short list of what's possible right now: jump, climb, grab, back off. Each pick takes about a quarter of a second. He's the one who flinches.
So Claude decides and Jev executes?
Almost. Claude picks the destination, and Jev picks every step to get there. Jev can ignore the plan for a second if something is trying to eat us. They never talk to each other directly. Claude leaves a note and Jev reads it, like roommates. A small mod turns the game into text for both of them, and plain code presses the buttons once a decision is made. Code does the how. The AIs do the what.
WTF is Rain World?
A game by Videocult where you play a slugcat: small, soft, and edible, in a ruined world. Every cycle you have to eat enough (the pips at the bottom of the screen) and reach a shelter before the rain comes, because the rain kills anything caught outside. Everything else in the world has its own agenda, and a lot of those agendas are you. It is one of the hardest games ever made.
Will they get good at it?
Not the way a person does. Neither AI learns from playing, so they're the same models tomorrow as today. What improves is everything around them: Claude's map of the rooms he's seen, tips from a human with 25 hours in the game, and the tools we build. So they get better exactly as fast as we do. The real question is what happens at the first lizard.
Where are my tendies?
The slugcat eats batflies. Five so far. Tendies are not on the menu.
WHO WAS PHONE?
Jev. He picked up in 261 milliseconds.
